Review of Farglory Hotel (Hualien, Taiwan)

My Panoramic Shot of Farglory Hotel

Farglory Hotel is an elegant hotel accommodation that stands 220 meters high and covers dozens of hectares in Hualien, Taiwan. With the mountains to one side and the ocean to the other, Farglory Hotel is also close to Farglory Ocean Park. Hence, if you are looking for a very relaxing place to stay that will guarantee you to feel fresh again, Farglory Hotel is your destination. Unfortunately, my family and I were not able to visit Farglory Ocean Park, simply because it was closed when we got there. Other than that, Farglory Hotel did get my stamp of approval.

At the very moment we arrived at the front door of the hotel, we were immediately greeted by their LED sign, which you can see in the picture. The hotel lobby had a very harmonious ambiance, matching with its Victorian theme. Since we already booked rooms through the travel agency, it only took us a few minutes before we got our room keys, complimentary dinner and breakfast vouchers. But before the front office personnel gave us the key, she first made sure that we were the true owners of the rooms by checking each of our passports , and she also briefed us about the facilities they had, which were the swimming pool, gym, spa, and bar.

Moving on to the rooms, Farglory Hotel is home to 400 guest rooms of various categories. My cousin and I stayed at one Superior Room with two windows and a balcony overseeing the ocean. The room’s interior design was very Victorian; the door, the bathroom, the bed, and the window were beautiful. But, what me and my cousin highly appreciated were its in-room amenities: the wall-mounted LCD TV, the local and international channels, the vault (digital safe), the study table (or a dresser), hot pot, lots of power outlets, and last but not the least, our very own wi-fi router that can only be used by the people inside the room.

We had complimentary dinner for that evening and also complimentary breakfast the other day. Although the food that were placed in the buffet tables were the same, it was enough to make us too full that we were no longer able to walk. It’s worthy to note that Farglory Hotel served different varieties of food on the buffet table. They served Chinese food, American food, Western Food, Local Taiwanese Food, etc. But what really made the night was dessert. They had so much desserts that whatever you would name, they would have it. The best part that of the dinner was the unlimited amount of Häagen-Dazs ice cream.

Farglory Hotel also helped in guarding our travel bags after we checked out on the last day, before our tour guide picked us up from the hotel. They have a stock room near the elevators on the ground floor, and we’ve seen how bags were properly labeled so they could be handed back to the owners when claimed. As we were already set to leave the place, the hotel really wanted to make sure that we will return again by flashing on their LED screen a thank you note for us. At the same time, the employees were waiving hands at us good-bye and thank you.

Thanks to Cola Tours, we had a hassle-free reservation at Farglory Hotel for our overnight stay last December 2014. Another good thing about Farglory Hotel is the service they gave. This is a recommended hotel. Good and satisfying!
